COP28

The 28th annual Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), commonly known as COP28, is a significant global event where countries unite to discuss and negotiate solutions to combat climate change. The UNFCCC is an international treaty that was adopted in 1992 with the overarching objective of stabilizing greenhouse gas concentrations in the atmosphere and mitigating the adverse impacts of climate change.

COP28 is expected to take place in 2023, and it will bring together representatives from nearly 200 countries, including government officials, policymakers, scientists, and civil society organizations, to assess progress made in addressing climate change and to negotiate and implement climate policies and actions on a global scale.

The outcomes of COP28 will be critical in shaping international efforts to tackle climate change and advance global climate action. This may include discussions on emissions reduction targets, adaptation measures, financing mechanisms, technology transfer, and capacity-building initiatives, among others. The conference will provide an opportunity for countries to collaborate and work towards finding common solutions to the urgent and complex challenge of climate change.
